What do you want today?

The sea has been our home since 1950…

and it could not be otherwise since we are at Gallipoli: the Kalè Polìs, the beautiful city, as the Greeks called it. Surrounded by the sea, projected into the sea. A bridge connects its most modern part to the ancient area, called “la padella”. The old town is very charming and makes you walk into another dimension. Walking along the bridge, the gaze embraces the great harbour, a natural canal capable of hosting even large boats, and on the left, to frame the panorama with its friezes and golden frames, a masterpiece of the baroque the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Canneto, so named after the discovery, among the reeds of a marsh, by fishermen, of a towel depicting the face of Virgin Mary. Between the shrine and the bridge is the picturesque and ancient marina, reserved for small fishing boats. Here in the early morning or at sunset, you can meet the “paranze“, the typical Gallipoli boats used for fishing, which return from the sea: among those who guide them you can meet us too. Fishermen since 1950, four generations of “sea people”: every day we bring to shore the freshly caught fish, the fruit of our passionate and hard-working work. The rest of the day we are with you to advise you at best and let you taste the best fish, fresh!
